Table Tennis in GuernseyThe table tennis season runs from September until May.
Guernsey has approximately 100 adult league table tennis players and approximately 100 children receiving regular coaching. There are 4 clubs - Lions, St Pauls, Whistlers and Panthers. All clubs play at the Guernsey Table Tennis Centre at La Hougue du Pommier, Vale.
The Island Championships are contested at the end of April/beginning of May each year at the Guernsey Table Tennis Centre. Age categories range from Under 11's to Over 60's. Winners of their respective categories subsequently meet their Jersey counterparts to compete in the Channel Islands Championships.
Guernsey players compete with other players in the Six Nations round robin tournaments (various age categories) and the Island Games. Guernsey also field male and female teams in British National League which is contested over four weekends spread over the winter season. The Association is able to offer trips to the UK to selected junior players to aid development as part of its programme to promote junior participation in the sport.
For the socially inclined, the Social League runs on Tuesday evenings at the Guernsey Table Tennis Centre. This League is particularly suited to beginners and lower division players.Various tournaments are held frequently throughout the table tennis season.
