The Footes Lane facilities are situated in the middle of the Island.
The parish boundaries of St Peter Port and St Andrews run through the playing fields although the majority of the area falls in St Peter Port. Access to the 13-acre site is from Footes Lane in St Andrews Parish.
The site borders Footes Lane to the west, with fields and dwellings on the remaining boundary. A rugby pitch and clubhouse owned by the Guernsey Rugby Club is located in the southern corner of the site.
The area consists of a 400-metre synthetic athletics track (including long/triple jump pits, throwing area etc), with a grass infield. The athletics track is used throughout the year with the highest demand during the school summer term. The infield is used for throwing events in the summer and for rugby or football during the winter. All of the track can be viewed from the Garenne Stand – a seated grandstand.
Also within the area is an Artificial Turf Pitch (ATP), changing rooms, storage areas, clubhouse and a car park. The ATP is mainly used for hockey although football and rugby training is also played on it.
A new pavilion has recently been completed in conjunction with the Guernsey Hockey Association.
